Nice Girls Don't Get the Corner Office 101...

This is the book being read by Geeks in Pink.

I just started it but so far, it's pretty good.
I like her approach.  To find out more about Dr. Lois Frankel, click on the title of this blog entry.

Last Week's Funky Flowers

Ok.. this is going to be a new weekly segment.
Our building has a very odd floral designer.
Every week is something different, and I'm just in awe
because it's like the concept is there, but
the overall look just doesn't quite do it for me
Like I LOVE the look of the roses all symmetrical

but the rock gravel on the bottom is just plain UGLY.

Outside Art

Who needs graffiti?
I was at my friend's house recently ( I will not name names, but she knows who she is)
This just cracked me up.. the kids - maybe hers or maybe her neighbors
had taken these pictures from the "give away" pile
and decided they added that "special" touch
Talk about a classy backyard !

Say it with Flowers....

Ok.. this takes arts and crafts to an entirely new level.

I just happened to come across this website during one of my google "searches" on flowers...
Please note that the word in the url IS what you think it is, so please view this website "discreetly"..
Especially because it is so freakin' funny that people around you will want to know what you are looking at..
so it might not be appropriate for work viewing..

I didn't cut it into squares. I served it as hash browns.

Chile Relleno Torte

I got this recipe from Diane Mott Davidson's Dying for Chocolate book.
It is a murder mystery - she has a series about a caterer in Colorado who solves crimes.
Click here for a list of her books.

Ingredients
1/2 lb. grated cheddar cheese
1/2 lb. grated pepper jack cheese
5 eggs
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 2/3 cup  half-and-half
1 - 4 oz. can of diced green chiles, drained
1/4 cup picante sauce

Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Mixed grated cheeses and spread evenly in buttered 10-inch pie plate.
Beat eggs with hand mixer, add flour slowly, and then beat in half-and-half.
If mixture is lumpy, strain it.
Pour egg mixture over cheeses in pie plate.
Carefully spoon chiles over the surface, then spoon picante sauce over all.
Bake 45 minutes or until center is set.
