The cost for their outdoor curtains start at $49.00

I need 8 curtains for my porch

So, that is pretty pricey for outdoor curtains!

I bought these curtains at IKEA for $4.99 for 2 panels

This kit, also @ IKEA, was either $5.99 or $6.99

I bought 4 packages of curtains and 3 pkgs of the curtain wire

I'm very excited!

Basically, for the price of one curtain panel @ West Elm

I am able to create my own porch oasis

I plan to surround my patio with these curtains

Should be done this weekend

We are 1/3 of the way there

Absolutely loving it so far

My New Favorite Breakfast

What ???

Pizza for breakfast???

No, sillies!!!

It's egg white with a little cheese, tomatoes, cucumber and pepper

(you can almost roll it up like a breakfast taco)

I'm not a big fan of Subway

but

I'm diggin their breakfast these days!

In the past couple of months, I have been on a quest to locate local farmer markets

in order to identify locally grown produce and grass fed meats

One thing I have learned is that it's very difficult to eat locally

I also realized that if I'm really serious about taking this path

then I needed to make one major change

Eliminating Diet Coke (aka artificial sweetners)

I probably drank anywhere from 4-6 a day at least

This is how I got my caffeine

I love coffee, but my stomach doesn't

I love all tea

so this is my new drink of choice

I have officially been off Diet Cokes since last Monday!

One full week...

I think I've been a DC drinker for over 15 years

so this is pretty monumentus!

Time Flies When You're Having Fun...

Hey Y'all,

I missed a very significant milestone last week. It wasn't until I received a comment from  Teena in Toronto, wishing me a Happy Blogoversary that I even realized that I started blogging 2 years ago on July 16th.

Two years ago, I had NO idea what blogging meant. The only blog I had even read was The Grey's Anatomy Writers blog, and that was because a friend had forwarded it to me.

Since I started blogging,

I discovered so many fabulous blogs and bloggers..

so many that it's overwhelming

I met a local famous chef Tim Love

 I met Bossy as she visited Dallas on her (No) Book Tour

 I stood in line for 6 hours to get an autographed copy of

Pioneer Woman's cookbook

 I received some free samples from Fischer and Weiser 

I was featured on Half Hour Meals

Our recent Twilight Party was featured on Tara's Twilight Party

 I was quoted on CNN regarding my Glee Party

&

I have signed up to attend my 1st blog event

  Bloggy Bootcamp in Austin this October

who knew that blogging could be so friggin' cool???
