American Idol - 11 Finalists

Doesn't he look like a young Vince Gill?
Or for those who were around in the '80's
a young Andrew Dice Clay?
I can't remember what he sang
which I guess means he was "forgettable"
in Simon Cowell words
ok.. someone please tell me why
is she still on?
Lacey Brown was a much better singer

This kid is just craZy
Doesn't he remind you of Michael J. Fox?
I understand he's the one to vote for according to

"I pity the fool who doesn't vote for me"
(Mr T flashback- if you are too young to remember,
google it, I believe the A Team is making a come back)
I'm sorry, but I'm so over Teddy Bear

Crystal rocks!
Just me and Bobby McGee...
(Can't wait to download it on iTunes)
This girl has soul and she rocks it
"I love you Hannah Montana"
wasn't he on "Malcolm in the Middle"

The next Wayne Newton
vegas baby
Ok.. Casey James, 27 from Ft Worth, TX
I can't make fun of him
First of all, he's a Texan
Secondly, he's just so PRETTY
I think he sangs real good
did I mention that he is just so pretty?

Are those acid wash jeans?
Are they making a come back?
Please say it ain't so!
a girl mohawk?
again, another look from the 80's that doesn't need to come back
I know.. I lived it
Siobhan reminds me of Ally Sheedy on Breakfast Club

I didn't mention Didi Benami (she's pretty good even though the judges didn't like her take on Linda Ronstadt's "You're No Good", I thought it was ok'
nor did I mention Katie Stevens..
she was ok too - she sang Fergi's "Big Girl Now"

Susan Moody's Italian Teardrops

There is an article in the Spring 2010 D/FW Edible Magazine

"The Perfect Pairing"

It talks about Arche Winery and Ancient Ovens.
(click on the names to go to their websites)

They are located in North Texas - about a 1 1/2 from D/FW.

Also, in the magazine is this recipe

1 - 8oz pkg cream cheese -softened at room temperature
1 package of won ton wrappers
1/2 cup green olives
1/4 cup butter - melted
1 teaspoon garlic powder

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Place the cream cheese & the olives in a food processor
Process on the low setting just until the cream cheese is blended & the olives are chopped to a medium consistency
Lay a won ton wrapper on a flot surface
Place a teaspoonful amount of the cream cheese/olive mixture in the middle
Fold one edge to the opposite corner to make a triangle
Take the ends of the triangle & bring them to the center
(like folding a diaper)
Place on a cookie sheet
Melt the butter and garlic powder together
Brush lightly onto the teardrops
Place in the oven
Bake for 15 minutes
or until the tops of the teardrops are brown

These are delicious!
They go perfect with a fruity white wine
Mine do not look as good as the one in the article
They weren't not cooked in a wood burning oven

I cannot wait to go visit
Who's in?

Frogs in a Pond - Part Deux

Back in May of last year,
I blogged about my Uncle JR's Frogs in a Pond breakfast

Sunday, I went a little crazy
I decided to try it out with cheddar- jalapeno sourdough bread
At first I thought I should make the pond larger,
 but then it hit me
Make 2 ponds

This was so yummy

Chocolate Cheesecake

No, I didn't bake this.
This is the only picture I took at the winery on Saturday night.
This cheesecake comes from a local place called Cheesecake Royale.
