Hunka Hunka Burning Love...

...not

This picture is hanging in the Potbelly's Sandwich Shop ladies room

It really caught me by surprise at lunch on Friday!

I'm like, "if this is hanging in the ladies room, what picture is hanging in the men's room?"

I do not know the answer, but plan on finding out soon.

The Cutest Gift ....

...ever

One of my sweet friends made this for me...

isn't it dahlin'???

I love it, love it, love it

Freezer Burn

Ok...
A couple of days ago, when we still had snow melting all around us
I was sitting in the living room which is open to my kitchen separated by an island.
When...

I hear a loud crash outside my kitchen (or so I think)

I think it's a big piece of ice sliding off my roof
although ice isn't really sliding off anyone's roof.

I look outside.. don't really see anything so I just move on with my day.

Later, I go to get ice out of the freezer and this is what I see...
No, this isn't an ad for Tyson Chicken..

that, my friends, is a diet coke explosion  -  all over my freezer

Poor diet coke can. I completely forgot that I had put a warm diet coke in the freezer to chill.

Man, nothing like having to clean up diet coke slush out of your freezer...

Wine Snob Confession #3

So, remember how I said I sometimes buy wines because of their names?

Check out Snoqualmie's Naked

I bought it not only for the name, Naked, but the fact that it's organic!

but...

unfortunately, didn't like the taste at all!

It tasted raw and unfinished...
I have tried other Snoqualmie wines in the past and liked them. So, it could just be this varietal.  (Look, I am a wine snob - I know the lingo!  )

The best organic wine I've tried so far is from the Bonterra winery.  (I say this like I drink organic wines all the time when in reality, this is the only other organic wine I've tried)
You can find their wines in most markets.
I highly recommend the Merlot and the Chardonnay.

Ironing Sheets

Remember when I went to the Pottery Barn free decorating class?

As I was throwing my sheets in the dryer, I remembered one of the topics discussed

ironing sheets

my question is...

..who does this?

I can honestly say I have never ironed a sheet in my life even though I do have a fresh linen spray in case I should ever get the urge

I love the feeling of taking a nice hot bath, and sliding into a nice warm bed with sheets right out of the dryer.

Apparently, I'm missing out because ironing your sheets makes this experience even more luxurious !

I like the "idea" of sleeping on freshly ironed sheets, but do not like actually being the one to have to doing the ironing.

So, answer this for me .. do you iron your sheets?

Charlaine Harris Book Signing

After going to my first book signing, The Pioneer Woman Cooks
I am inspired to attend more.

Dallas is usually on most author's tours, and I am an avid reader.
Taking my lessons learned from PW's book signing, I am excited.

If you are not familiar with Charlaine Harris, she is the author of the Sookie Stackhouse series.  True Blood on HBO is loosely based on her novels.

Well, it's a little early, but mark your calendars.

The latest book in the Sookie Stackhouse series, "Dead in the Family" will be released on May 4, 2010.
Charlaine will be at Borders @ 10720 Preston Road, Dallas, TX on May 15, 2010 @ 2pm.
I plan on being there!
Stay tuned as I gather more information.
Like..
1) Can we bring our own copy of the book or do we have to purchase it there ?
2) Do we have to get a bracelet or some kind of # ? If so, how early can we get it?
(I'm serious.. I'm going to do -like join a fan club to get any early scoop. I will draw the line at camping out overnight.)

Happy Valentine's Day

How are you spending today?
I'm going to a friend's house for a "Valentine's Day" lunch.

I will be taking Paula Deen's "No Yo Mama's Banana Pudding"

It's my first time to make it, so it will be posted at some point, I'm sure.
