Throwdown with Bobby Flay

Bobby Flay is in Dallas!
I am so excited!

He will be signing "Throwdown"  @ Borders today @ 5pm

"Throwdown" is one of my favorite Food Network shows

A while back I mentioned a place I've been dying to go to in Austin

The throwdown between them and Bobby is in the book!
&
I just happen to be going
to Austin this weekend
&
finally get to check this place out

I cannot say it enough
I'm totally pumped

This is my 2nd book signing
I learned my lesson back in December
when I attended
The Pioneer Woman's book signing

I remember getting there a little before 6pm thinking
wow, this is a breeze!
I got my book and wristband
No line at all
Only to learn
that
people had been getting wristbands
since 10am
and
I was like #400
so
6 and a half hours later..

well...

not this time...

I was at Borders by 9am today

I was one of the first 10 to get a green wristband

Bobby is supposed to start signing at 5pm

I
can
not
wait!!!

Charlaine Harris Book Signing

After going to my first book signing, The Pioneer Woman Cooks
I am inspired to attend more.

Dallas is usually on most author's tours, and I am an avid reader.
Taking my lessons learned from PW's book signing, I am excited.

If you are not familiar with Charlaine Harris, she is the author of the Sookie Stackhouse series.  True Blood on HBO is loosely based on her novels.

Well, it's a little early, but mark your calendars.

The latest book in the Sookie Stackhouse series, "Dead in the Family" will be released on May 4, 2010.
Charlaine will be at Borders @ 10720 Preston Road, Dallas, TX on May 15, 2010 @ 2pm.
I plan on being there!
Stay tuned as I gather more information.
Like..
1) Can we bring our own copy of the book or do we have to purchase it there ?
2) Do we have to get a bracelet or some kind of # ? If so, how early can we get it?
(I'm serious.. I'm going to do -like join a fan club to get any early scoop. I will draw the line at camping out overnight.)

Twilighters...

I have found a new awesome series. A friend loaned me "City of Bones" by Cassandra Clarke like 6 months ago. I put it aside as a "book I will read when I have nothing else to read". So, I picked it up this weekend, and when I saw that the main character was 15 years old, I almost put it down (just like I almost did with "Twilight") - but once I started reading it - LOVED IT... just like "Twilight". I couldn't wait to get the next book "City of Ashes". I looked at Half Price Books first, but they didn't have it. I felt a little weird looking in the young adults section, but oh well. I found it at Borders - in the young adult section. I almost picked up the third book "City of Glass" but it was hardback ($$), and I figured that was too much to spend on books - because we all know that I didn't leave Half Price Books empty handed!
