So sorry that it's been a month since I've last posted.

Time is going by way to fast. The year is almost gone.

Here are my Halloween decorations

My cat of 14 years disappeared in March. Over the years I've collected black cat Halloween decor. I was shopping and thought "oh no - I no longer have a black cat - but quickly realized that was ok.. I can still decorate in his memory" RIP Chuck wherever you are.

Love the Pumpkin Centerpiece. This is one of the few new things I bought this year. It was only $9.99 at Kirklands.

You Know You're Getting Old When..

Imagine my surprise when I saw the BIG "AARP" envelope in my mailbox. I was like, "YIKES, I thought you didn't start getting these until you were almost 50 - I'm not even 45 yet! "

After sitting on my counter for like a day, I picked up the dang thing, and saw that it wasn't even addressed to me, but SYLVIA GRAHAM. Not sure who she is. All I know is that she AIN'T ME!!!

What NOT to Wear...

EVER!!!

I find words totally unnecessary but can't refrain!

There is NEVER a time EVER that socks should be worn with thong sandals. Not even in the privacy of your own home. I even question wearing socks with non-thong sandals. The only exception I can think of is this - maybe in the dead of winter, in the middle of the night because you have to walk your dog. BUT NOT on a hot humid 100 degree Sunday afternoon in public - even if it is the local gas station.

Bedazzled Flip Flops

A couple Saturdays ago, I was invited to a Lia Sophia Jewelry Party. For wearing "bling" flipflops, our names got entered into a drawing. Well, I had bought these flipflops at Target. I had planned on wearing them plain, but remembered that I had bought these lovely fake diamond stickers for some other arts and crafts project never completed and totally forgotten. Within 10 minutes, my plain flipflops became cute and chic. Ok, maybe a little pathetic and understated, but hey I got my name in the drawing!

Herbal Experiment - Day 46

The last update on the Herbal Experiment was on June 25th. Since then I have lost the thyme. ***sigh***

The basil from farmers market seems to be hanging in there. It got a little wilty last week, but it is springing back. It started to bud flowers which is a good sign. Per the instructions that I googled, you are supposed to remove the flowers, so I did.

This picture was taken this morning, 7/23. It's looking alot better.
Of course, this pot also had thyme and parsley. The parsley is gone, but the thyme is still there but barely hanging on. Next time, I will not plant thyme with basil. I think I might plant the thyme in the ground.

So, in this pot I originally planted seeds from a buzzy seeds kit. I planted cilantro, chives, parsley, marjoram, basil and thyme. The only thing still alive is the basil. It started wilting last week , but it came back.

Here are the sage, lavender and chives I bought at Farmers Market. The sage is doing good. The lavender and chives are surviving but haven't made much progress since I planted them 46 days ago.
