Williams Sonoma Technique Classes - September

September Technique Classes

PASTA – IT'S ALL ABOUT THE SHAPE!

Sunday, September 11
Eat like a Roman and savor a comforting pasta meal. A family favorite for many of us, pasta provides an easy answer to the proverbial question, "What's for dinner?" We'll show you how various pasta shapes marry well with different sauces and how to make perfect baked pasta, plus expand your repertoire with some tasty recipes.

PIZZA – IT'S ALL ABOUT THE CRUST!

Sunday, September 18
While Naples invented pizza, Rome has perfected the thin-crust style. And many agree, the key to great pizza is starting with great flour and learning how to make exceptional dough. In this class we'll focus on the crust, teaching you step-by-step how to master pizza dough. Then we'll talk toppings.

DISCOVER LIQUID GOLD – OLIVE OIL

Sunday, September 25
Share the wealth of liquid gold—olive oils, that is. Join us as we explore why certain extra-virgin oils are truly "extra" special. Learn how to make the most of olive oils, whether you're using them for cooking, finishing or flavoring foods. We'll taste a variety of olive oils and discuss how just the right oil can elevate your cooking to the next level.

I am never disappointed when I got to one of these technique classes.  They are last about a hour, and they are free.  I go to the store at Preston and Park in Plano, Tx. They hold their classes on Saturdays at 9:30am.

Just call the Williams-Sonoma store in your area to sign up.

The Pioneer Woman: Behind the Scenes With Ree Drummond on the Food Network

Omg! I am so excited. My favorite bloggess is going to be on TV. Remember way back when I got to meet her at my very first book signing for her cookbook? I think I've mentioned her on my blog at least 8 times. I will confess that I have cooked more recipes from her Pioneer Woman cookbook than any other cookbook I own. Her recipes are amazing! She hasn't failed me yet.

Click on the link below to find out more about her new show on the Food Network starting next Saturday. I can NOT wait!!!!

I am so excited about this. I drive through Marble Falls (which is only 8 miles away from the Southern Living Idea House in Horseshoe Bay) when I go to see my Aunt Janae in Fredericksburg. I've been wanting to take my friends to Marble Falls and Horseshoe Bay since, like, forever... now we have a good reason to go!

Check out this house.. it's AMAZING!!!

David Fulton Winery, Napa Valley

is tucked away on a residential street

It is one of the oldest wineries in Napa
It is able to stay where it is at because it's
a historic site

This winery is so worth the visit!
I loved it so much
I signed up for their wine club!

The 2007 Petit Sirah rocks!

Peaches with Basil

All I can say is yummy!

I sliced a peach- drizzled it with honey - chopped up some fresh basil ( can you believe my basil is thriving in this heat? )- then topped it off with some goat cheese

Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Madrigal Vineyards, Napa Valley

As I mentioned previously, I was in Napa for a convention
So...........
I only got to visit a couple wineries
Shout out to my friend, Allison for scheduling it along with the limo

Madrigal was first on the list
I loved the 2006 Petit Sirah and the 2006 Zinfandel

I'd show you a picture, but they are in a box being shipped back to me!
Being first timer, I didn't think about how to get our wine purchases back to Texas.
Of course, where there is "wine" there is a "way"

Most wineries won't even ship to us until October because of the weather.
