Access Denied!!!

I have guests in from Chicago. I was feeling so proud to be the "perfect hostess" by taking them to the newest attraction D/FW has to offer. The brand new Dallas Cowboy Stadium in Arlington, TX. We looked online, and you can't book ahead of time - you just show up. Tours start at 10am, and while we did get a late start, thought we had plenty of time. We got there about 11am, and the tours were already SOLD OUT. It was so devastating. My "perfect" hostess hat totally deflated.
Of course, we came all that way, so we HAD to shop in the Pro Shop. Surprisedly, prices were not that outrageous. I actually got a tank top that says "I love the Dallas Cowboys" for 9.99, a recycle bag for 1.99, and a plastic beer mug with lights for 12.99.
Determined to not lose my "Perfect" hostess card forever, we are going to try to go again on Tuesday morning before my guests head back to Chicago.

My 'boys

I'm so sad that it has taken me 2 days since the horrible game against the Eagles to acknowledge them. As par after a terrible loss, I can't listen to the news commentary nor have I been able to read my favorite sports blog "No Joshin'". The game wasn't even over yet, when one of the announcers was asking if Wade Phillips will still have a job. I will leave the dissection of what happened to a team that at the beginning of the season had Super Bowl talent to the "experts". All I know is that I'm sad that the Cowboy football season is over, I still {heart} Marion Barber and Tony Romo. Win or lose, I am and will always be a Dallas Cowboy fan!

Have you ever wondered?

What really happens under those tarps? And why does it take 2 guys to hold them up?

Have you ever wondered what football players do during a game when they need to pee?
Well, I had the luxury of sitting right behind the Cowboys one year and discovered to my dismay that they pee in plastic bottles under a tarp...
I didn't take these pictures - they were taken this year at the Thanksgiving game by a friend who wishes to be anonymous for obvious reasons.

Weekend in Sports

Tech lost to Oklahoma - 65-21. What a hard game to watch. I couldn't believe this was the same team I watched play Texas and Oklahoma State.

While Tech was playing, the Dallas Stars lost to the Anaheim Mighty Ducks 2-1. Poor Stars - just can't seem to rally this season.

On the other hand, my 'boys won today beating San Francisco. The Cowboys were favored to win, but 1st quarter looked a little shaky. They pulled it out during 2nd quarter... beating the 49ers 35-22.

The Giants and the Redskins won today. Giants leading the division with the Cowboys tied with Washington. The Eagles seemed to have lost their mojo.. so not really worried about them.

Cowboys play Seattle on Thanksgiving. They should win -but they are still very unpredictable. The Giants and the Redskins play next Sunday. Next week will be one step closer for the Cowboys to make the playoffs - depending the outcome of these games.

Big Girls Don't Cry

Redskins - 26 / Cowboys 24. :(

I have the Cowboy Blues. I am not a fairweather fan. I love the Cowboys even when the lose, but I tell you what - I do not want to hear the play by play breakdown of all the things they did wrong. I usually watch all the post-game shows when they win, but not this week. I won't even listen to talk radio until after the Cincinnati game.

The Cowboys are 3-1. This is a great start to the season. We will play the Skins again. It will be on Redskins turf, but I know we'll beat them. I have faith.

Still cheering...with a tiny tear.

Cows vs Skins

I love, love, love football!!! I love, love, love the Dallas Cowboys. Right now, I "heart" Marion Barber. He rocks. (I'm still coveting the pink #24 jersey, but can't spent $59.99)

I have been a fan since I was in the 5th grade. I started watching during the Doomsday defense era (Too Tall Jones, Randy White, etc). I will always remember the Cowboys vs the Steelers (or Staubach vs. Bradshaw).
One of my best Cowboy memories is when my friend, Al and I met Bob Hays and Drew Pearson at Aw Shucks in Addison. It was in the 90's. We actually went to Drew Pearson's house and had a drink with Bob Hays. It was a classic moment.

Earlier in the year, my friend, Susan met Randy White when she booked him to speak at one of their company meetings. Being the awesome friend that she is, I now am the proud owner of an autographed picture of Randy White.
So far, my 'boys are rockin' @ 3-0. We play the Redskins today. They are a big rival (along with the Eagles, the Giants, and just about anyone who plays the Cowboys). Kickoff in a hour and a 1/2. I've got my pink Cowboy jersey on.. beer in the fridge.. I AM READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!!!
